About Us

Project2030 aims to bring young Catholics together to meet and develop
friendships with fellow Catholics around the UK and Ireland through various
social and faith activities with groups in and around Dublin, Glasgow,
North-West England, London and other places.

Since Easter 2000 there have been regular programmes of events in each
country for people to make new friendships and share their faith: social
gatherings, walks, barbecues, pub lunches, masses, ceilidhs, as well as
workshops, trips, weekends, days of retreats and pilgrimages.

Local Events - for each group, there are regular local programmes of
events for people to make new friendships and share their faith through social
gatherings, retreats, talks, walks, meals and evenings out.

Joint Events - we also have joint events where everyone is invited for
retreats, pilgrimages, holidays and weekends away in Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool,
Manchester, London and other places.

Some members of the Project2030 Group are also members of the Music Group. At
the moment, several musicians and singers from the various groups often get
together informally in the different areas to play at group masses and other
events. However, there has been talk at various events about forming a Project
2030 Music Group to practice together, swap ideas and maybe play at some of the
Project 2030 masses. After the success of last year's Project2030 Music Weekend
we will be repeating the event next year.

P2030 members also organise various retreats throughout the year. Retreats
are a way to escape from the stresses of modern day life. They allow you time
and space to be close to God, to think and pray and reflect - and also to make
new friends. In the past we have held Retreats at the following venues; Smithstone House
Kilwinning in Ayrshire, The Marie Reparatrice Centre in Wimbledon, House of
Prayer in Abbotswick, The Friars in Aylesford, Lough Derg and others.

Project2030 also organises several pilgrimages and trips to various sites for
the groups members. Registered users can access further information on
pilgrimages in the Project2030 disucssion forum - where you can view and post
further comments, questions, information and report back your pilgrimage
experiences.

Join Project2030 - it's FREE! New members can send us their details
via the Join-Us
contact form
and we'll mail you the programme for your area and you just
come to whatever interests you when you are free. If you don?t live near a group
you can always join one of the holidays, pilgrimages, retreats and weekends away
that we organise between all the groups. There are no formal membership
requirements - anyone who is a Catholic or others who respect the Catholic ethos
are welcome to get involved.

If you are aged 20-30, 30-40 or 40 - 45 you are welcome to get involved. In every
parish there might only be a few people who would be interested in this kind of
thing, but if we throw the net wide enough we can get enough people to do a
variety of things. So far it's working well. There's no obligation to come to
everything. If you like something we are doing then come along. If you have
other ideas of things you would like to do then let us know. There is something
for everyone.
